Series 175 of record group 58-17 consists of a map and field notes of a survey (1867), originally collected by the Michigan Lands Division, of alterations in the line of Ionia, Houghton Lake and Mackinaw State Road, H.E.W. Kolmer, surveyor. The map and field notes were filed in Stanton, Michigan on December 8, 1867. The road was authorized by Public Act 117 of 1859 and Public Act 240 of 1859. The alterations commences on Section 31 in T.14 N., R.6 W., the line then runs east of route connecting with the old line surveyed in Section 8 in T.17 N., R.5 W. The map shows some natural features such as trees, lakes, rivers, etc. The map is 14 3/4" x 54" (rolled) in size, with no scale given.
